In a shocking and disturbing development, authorities in Pennsylvania say they’ve found the equivalent of nearly 200mg of candy inside a package of candy.
Police say the package was sent to a child’s grandparents on Monday, and the package contained a total of 240 grams of candy, including some chocolate bars.
The packages arrived on Monday at the Grandpa’s Dairy in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the Grandma’s Dairy and Grandpa Foods.
Police arrested a woman and her son who allegedly bought the candy.
They face a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, according to the Daily News.
Authorities say the grandmother, who has no children, was the primary buyer of the candy and her grandchildren, who have no children.
Police said they also seized three packages containing candy that were being sold on the Internet, including one containing 200 grams of candies.
The package was shipped from the United Kingdom, according the newspaper.
