New Jersey residents are being warned that a rare batch of space candy could be sold in New York City if it gets too hard for a child.
State regulators on Monday said that if it is too hard to break down the candy, the state will consider suspending sales of the product until the candy is resold.
A federal judge earlier this month blocked the state from banning the sale of candy in the state because it’s considered a drug.
The judge said the state can’t ban the sale because the candy can’t be marketed to minors.
Last month, the Federal Trade Commission said it would block the sale in New Jersey.
A federal appeals court in New Mexico also has blocked the sale, saying it violates a ban on minors from buying the candy.
